Book Review: The Heavens Proclaim His Glory

11 Sep

It’s really easy to forget how small we are.

Sometimes our problems, and the obstacles we face in this life, seem so big.

But there is a God who is bigger.  There is a God that is in control.

“There is no neutral ground in the universe; every square inch, every split second, is claimed by God.” – C.S. Lewis

The Heavens Proclaim His Glory: A Spectacular View of Creation Through the Lens of the NASA Hubble Telescope

I had the recent pleasure of reading and viewing The Heavens Proclaim His Glory, an exciting compilation of photos taken by NASA’s Hubble Telescope, and quotes derived from some of the world’s most noted leaders, authors and works.

I was captivated by this stunning book’s full-color images of galaxies far, far away.  Taken in by the beauty and color of distant stars.  When looking at this book, I was reminded of the awesome, powerful hand of God.

In addition to its full color images and powerful quotes, this book contains in-depth descriptions of the photographs, which prove wonderful for adults and children alike who have an interest in astronomy.

But more importantly, the beauty of these photographs speak to the beauty and complexity of the Maker of the Universe.

“What melts our hearts is not just that there is beauty in the universe. What melts us is the knowledge that God designed all beauty to show us who He is, as a symbolic language of the soul. All nature is God wooing us to Himself.” – Stephen Mansfield

Let this book serve as a reminder that the Creator loves you.  That the God who created the beauty within these pages created you.  He has a plan for your life.  And He holds you, and the Heavens, in the palm of His hand.
