Work on Flight 93 Memorial to Begin this Fall

12 Sep

Ten days ago, the New York Times announced that the federal government has purchased 1,395 acres of land near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where construction will begin on a memorial in honor of those who lost their lives on United Airlines Flight 93 eight years ago. A small memorial is now located a short distance from the crash site, but this new memorial will allow the space for more people to pay their respects.

Check out the design for the new memorial here, and be sure to stop by the U.S. National Park Service’s Flight 93 National Memorial website for more information.
